Personal, competent, flexible: Our experienced driver-guides take you safely to the most beautiful places in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Discover Georgia and the Caucasus your way — with a personal driver-guide from Kaukasus-Reisen
For over 20 years, my team and I have been organizing private tours through Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Our local driver-guides know the roads, the people, the families who open their homes — and they know when to leave the main highway and which detour is worth every minute.
Our tours are not catalogue trips. They are shaped in conversation with you, adapt to your pace, and take you where the Caucasus feels most real. Your guide drives, explains, translates, and connects you with the people of the region — personally, flexibly, in English or German.

Travel the Caucasus with your own private driver-guide
Would you like to experience the Caucasus in depth — without worrying about navigation, road conditions, or language barriers? Our private tours with driver-guide give you the perfect combination of total freedom and local expertise.
Why choose a private tour with Kaukasus-Reisen?
- Pure relaxation: Enjoy the scenery while your experienced driver handles mountain passes, city traffic, and everything in between.
- Deeper insights: Your personal guide opens doors that ordinary tourists never find — encounters with local families, hidden monasteries, off-road valleys.
- Full flexibility: Your itinerary is your idea. We adapt the route spontaneously — to the weather, to your mood, to what you discover along the way.
- No language barriers: Your guide speaks English and ensures smooth communication throughout Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Tailored tours for the highest standards
Our private tours with qualified English- and German-speaking driver-guides are ideal for:
- Pairs and small groups (up to approx. 7 passengers)
- Flexible duration (from 3 days to 3 weeks)
- Comfortable travel — we select reliable 4×4 vehicles with adequate comfort for mountain terrain
Looking for something specific? Whether it’s Georgian wine country, the high Caucasus mountain villages, ancient monasteries, or remote lowland steppe — tell us what moves you, and we’ll design the route.
Chosen for you personally
With Heiner and Teona, you choose guides who know Georgia not as tourists, but as people who have lived and worked here for decades. We select our driver-guides carefully and travel with them ourselves — so you always travel with someone we trust completely.
Not sure yet? Send us your first question — the first conversation is always free and without obligation.
Inspiration for your ideal route (examples)
- Georgian Highlands & Greater Caucasus (10–14 days): From Tbilisi via the Military Highway to Kazbegi, through Kakheti wine country, across the Abano Pass into Tusheti — if the season allows.
- Culture & Wine in Kakheti (7–10 days): From Tbilisi into the wine heartland of Georgia. Your guide introduces you to winemakers, cave monasteries, and the great Alazani valley.
- The Caucasus in Three Countries (14–23 days): Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in one journey — ancient churches, Baku’s old city, UNESCO landscapes, and the warm hospitality of three very different cultures.
Your Caucasus — Authentic, Sustainable, Unforgettable
We are well established in all three countries. We have trusted local partners in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan — and we plan your trip from our office in Tbilisi’s Old City, where we live and work year-round.

FAQ
You decide. We typically plan driving times of 3 to 5 hours per day, with plenty of stops for photos, sightseeing, and coffee. We don’t do marathon driving days — the experience is the point.
Completely flexible. Our guides are happy to join a shared Georgian feast (supra), but they fully respect your privacy if you prefer time for yourselves as a couple or family. Just let us know.
Tipping is an important gesture of appreciation in the Caucasus. As a guideline, we suggest around €10–15 per day for the full team, handed over at the end of the trip.
Yes. We work primarily with qualified, English-speaking guides who have studied or lived abroad. If no English-speaking guide is available for your dates, we will inform you in advance and offer an equally excellent alternative.
That is exactly why you book a private tour. As long as the new route is logistically feasible and booked accommodation can still be reached, your guide adapts the day’s plan to your wishes — spontaneously and without fuss.
