Discover the beauty of Georgia on this fascinating MTB cycling tour from Tbilisi to Batumi along Tsalka, the great lake Paravani, to Vardzia, Akhaltsikhe and Abastumani to Batumi at the Black Sea.
The group by size of 12 to 18 guests is lead by our experienced guide Giorgi. You go along carefully chosen quiet roads and enjoy rolling hills and always changing views. Daily cycling distances are between 25 and 60 km and some sections will be done by mini bus.
Besides the famous Georgian capital Tbilisi this tour shows you more the remoter rural parts of Georgia and occasionally touristic highlights like the famous Cave town of Vardzia and the hip coastal city of Batumi.

A MTB bicycle tour in Georgia along the Caucasian landscapes of Georgia from Tbilisi via the highlands of Javakheti, through the Small Caucasus to Batumi at the Black Sea of 25-60 kilometers of cycling a day. We provide the bikes, the accommodation, the food, the guide and organize the transfers between the stages.

Itinerary
10.00 a.m. Meet your guide.
Leisurely sightseeing tour of Tbilisi. We see, among other things, the old town with the Sioni Church, the Narikala Fortress and the Mother of Georgia. Snack on the go.
After that we get our bikes. We have enough time for a first small tour to the nearby Lisi See and can test the bikes.
In the evening around 8.00 p.m. big welcome evening in the restaurant.
Bus ride to Tsalka. Today’s cycling stage takes us through a lonely and rough plateau past the Tsalka Reservoir and the beautiful Paravani Lake with the original villages mostly inhabited by Armenians.
We experience pure nature!
Shortly after Akhalkalaki, the landscape suddenly changes. You now drive through the fertile valleys and canyons of South Georgia and enjoy the view of impressive fortifications and old wine terraces in the Kura Valley.
Arriving in Vardzia, you visit the famous cave town in the afternoon.
You cycle high up to Chobareti, where you will get to know the traditional South Georgian cheese production.
Then you continue driving through the old villages in the outskirts of Aspindza. Arrived in Akhaltsikhe, you get a guided tour through the beautiful fortress of Rabat.
You continue by bus to the Borjomi health resort, where you will spend the night.
Bus ride to Zestafoni. We cycle along the Lesser Caucasus mountain range through the western Georgian region of Imereti to the hot springs at Vani. Of course we have enough time for a bath.
Lunch and wine tasting at a wine farmer en route and drive to the Black Sea coast.
Once in Batumi, your guide will show you the pretty city. You walk to the harbor and through the lively old town.
In the morning, take a leisurely bike tour along the beautiful boulevard. delivery of the wheels. The afternoon is now free in Batumi.
Later you meet for the farewell evening at a Restaurant at the fish market.

Yes, Georgia has a rich and varied cuisine with many vegetarian dishes. There is an abundance of delicious salads, pies, soups, casseroles, potato, rice, corn, bean dishes prepared without meat or fish. If you have certain allergies, please let us know in advance of the trip.

Located in a depression between the Greater and Lesser Caucasus Mountains, Georgia has warm summers and mild winters.
Due to its varied relief, the climate varies greatly from region to region.
So in July it can be 37 degrees in Tbilisi, but only 22 in Stepantsminda and 19 in Ushguli.
East Georgia is drier and hotter, while west Georgia is milder and wetter, influenced by the Black Sea.
Georgia has a modern, fast and cheap mobile network with wide coverage. There is a good network practically everywhere except for very remote areas in the Greater Caucasus or in Vashlovani National Park.
